Posted: August 2, 2023

We are delighted to share the news that Cappella Pueblo West has been honored with the prestigious World’s Best Culture Certification from Drive. This remarkable achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to cultivating an exceptional workplace culture that aligns with our core organizational values. We believe this recognition reflects the actual quality of each of our communities and services.

To earn Drive’s World’s Best Culture certification, we had to meet key benchmarks using the globally acclaimed Barrett Values Centre’s Culture Values Assessment. This certification is recognized across all industries and backed by Barrett’s extensive 25-year database and 4 million culture assessments, with companies like Mastercard, Coca-Cola, Prudential, Wegmans, PWC, and Volvo among them. Drive, a consultancy firm specializing in senior living culture, stands out as the leading user of the Barrett Values Assessment in aging services.

What Best Culture Means to Cappella Pueblo West

Being acknowledged as having one of the world’s best cultures is paramount to our Pueblo community. This prestigious designation fills our current team members and residents with immense pride and attracts like-minded individuals who share our mission and values. Furthermore, it gives us a competitive edge in marketing, as potential residents and families know the significance of a supportive workforce in ensuring resident well-being. The certification is a testament that Cappella Pueblo West is a great place to live and work.

With a remarkable organizational culture score of 80, Cappella Pueblo West has far surpassed the Global Average of 51, the Healthcare Average of 50, and Drive’s senior living communities average of 58. The overall culture score reflects the health and strength of our organization, based on how well we align personal, current, and desired cultures while also addressing any negative limiting values that may arise from team member responses.

In analyzing the survey results, we were particularly pleased to observe the reflection of common values such as caring, hardworking, teamwork, and compassion in team members’ personal values, their current work culture experience, and their aspirations for the future. This alignment between personal values and workplace culture is a tremendous asset, and it confirms that we are on the right track in fostering a positive and fulfilling environment for all.

“At Cappella Pueblo West we have an amazing team and residents. Everything that happens here involves “we” not “me.” In creating a positive culture, we must be reliable, responsible, and accountable to each other and residents. In doing this, we can work toward our common vision. With enthusiastic team members, effective teamwork, and communication, we can provide residents with the best possible care while having fun in the community,” says Executive Director Ryan Ludke.

Our Goals After Earning Best Culture

We understand that earning the World’s Best Culture Certification is not the culmination of our journey; it marks a stepping-stone toward continuous improvement. Cappella of Pueblo West sees this recognition as motivation to continually enhance our workplace culture, refine our practices, and uphold the standards of excellence we have set. We will remain steadfast in our commitment to providing an outstanding workplace experience, and this certification reaffirms our dedication to the growth and development of our team members.Older adult and care partner

Three other communities owned or managed by Christian Living Communities also earned the World’s Best Culture Certificate. All are currently delving into the survey results, engaging in conversations with team members, and setting measurable goals for improvement and continued growth. Collaborative approaches to improvement are at the core of our approach to community life.

Our parent organization, the Christian Living Communities team is excited to be featured in a national healthcare publication, McKnight’s Senior Living, which includes Cappella Pueblo West’s  World Class Culture Certification.
